Description: | These attractive little butterflies are called sailors due to their habit of only occasionally flapping their wings and sailing from spot to spot. They are sun loving butterflies and will be found out on the flowers throughout the day. They especially enjoy the flowers of our large red Clerodendron. Their striking black and white stripes serve the same purpose as those on zebras; they help to hide the animal from predators. |
